This show was a lot of fun. I have to admit, I’m not a fan of midday interviews. They’re typically formulaic and boring. This was an exception. If you’re an Egypt Central fan, you’ll enjoy it. If you’re not an Egypt Central fan, you’ll enjoy it too. Look, click the link, get in here and listen. Alright?
Unearth just released their fifth album, Darkness in the Light. Buz McGrath, their long-time guitarist joined us in late June to discuss the release, as well as the upcoming Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Beginning on July 9th in San Bernardino, CA Unearth will share a bill with the likes of Godsmack, Disturbed, In Flames, Machine Head and many more.
Our listeners are largely unfamiliar with this band. Darius raves about them, as well as their live show. Nirvana gave them the rub in the early 90′s and they had a huge hit with “Backwater” off Too High to Die. Cris is a 30 year veteran of the music business, battled addiction, been to prison, and has lived to tell about it. Enjoy!
We touched on quite a bit, ranging from Mark quitting Chimaira for five minutes to Adema. I’m not a fan of interviews conducted in the middle of the day, but I will say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, this was effortless. Mark Hunter was an awesome guest. Great conversationalist, great personality, and one tremendous singer.
A short, layman look at Staind going forward following the departure of longtime drummer John Wysocki. It seems to have come out of nowhere, or at least that’s the feeling I get when I talk to people. John was well-liked, but always seemed uncomfortable with the limelight of being in an immensely popular band. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
