Jay Rushing is the founder of Tunelab.com, a site on which I’ve received my active rock news for four years. Outside of that, I’m mostly impressed with Jay’s articles on the music industry They identify problems, and unlike most articles on the subject, propose reasonable, viable, and practical solutions. He also possesses a much better voice for radio than yours truly, but that’s a discussion for another day.
American Head Charge has reunited for Tourette, a mini-run of shows they’re doing in Minnesota and surrounding cities. Chad Hanks joined us live to talk about this development, as well as a potential new album. This show clocks in at two hours. This isn’t an interview, more like three guys sitting at a bar where one of the three just has more interesting stuff to say. All Knowing Force will forever support everything Head Charge does…always. AKF <3 AHC, but not in the “Dave Navarro took off his shirt so I must look” kind of way.
One of two things happened after our interview with Marty McCoy of Bobaflex. Either a bunch of dudes decided to email us and pretend they were death metal-loving women or a bunch of death metal-loving women emailed us. I don’t know if it’s more pathetic that a bunch of dudes would pretend to be women or if a bunch of women actually enjoy death metal.
Melodic death metal, exported from Finland, right here on All Knowing Force. Ville Friman and his band Insomnium’s fifth album, One For Sorrow, will see an October 18th, 2011 United States release on Century Media. The album hasn’t been made available, so I haven’t heard it. But, if past releases are any indication, this is going to be awesome. -AB
Bring Me The Horizon steamroll into the Roseland Ballroom on Wednesday, September 21st with Parkway Drive, Architects and more in tow. We partnered with Live Nation to give one pair of tickets away to this show. Unfortunately, the amount of responses from listeners (71) did not meet the desired minimum (100). We will be working with Live Nation in the future on more giveaways. Unfortunately, it seems our demographic and the Bring Me The Horizon demographic aren’t the same. Thank you to all that replied.
If a well-structured rock radio show with a defined trajectory is your thing, you might want to skip our recent interview with Marty McCoy of Bobaflex. As show hosts, this was as easy and enjoyable as it gets. We don’t sit around a table and do anything for the “Boom Boom” nor will we ever. Bobaflex fan or not, you’ll enjoy this show. Check out their latest release, Hell in my Heart, available everywhere.
I wasn’t too happy with this spot. I expected it to be much better. So, there’s a lot of typical rock radio questions, and really nothing is said here that hasn’t been said a million times before. I’m glad to hear they’re going to have a much larger budget for their fourth record. Hopefully, those extra funds will go towards the marketing of quality songs. I think it will be tough to top A Star-Crossed Wasteland, but we’ll see.
