Peter Steele
If this were word association, and someone said Peter’s name, my immediate response would be “one of a kind.”
I had the experience of working with him on many occasions, and can honestly say, without hesitation, he drove me up a wall. But, to be driven crazy by Peter was to love him.
I know you’re in a better place, old friend. Your legacy and music will live on forever.

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t too big a fan of Type O Negative. Not because I didn’t like them, but at the time I just was never in the mood to listen to them (I was more into goth rock/metal in my teens). Kind of sucks that I now get into them and Mr. Steele passes. His voice was amazing.
I remember melting at the site of him when he came on as a guest on Jerry Springer. The man was gorgeous.
His impact on the metal community is quite obvious. Mr. Steele and his band were/are clearly influential to the metal bands of today.
Rest in peace.

Don’t mistake lack of talent for genius.

To each their own.

Carla wasn’t being insulting. She’s not that type. I think that quote was in their liner notes for October Rust or Bloody Kisses.
I’m going to head over to Youtube now to see Peter on Springer. I heard about it but never had the chance to check it out.

I figured as much, the message was pretty cryptic. Haha. Like I said I’m not the biggest Type O Negative fan.
Looking back on that Springer episode and at a recent interview, you can see how drugs can wreck havoc on someone physically. His personality seemed to stay the same. I think the number of interviews I’ve watched of him and the band exceeds the number of songs I’ve listened to. Ha!
